thegarzasfromtx: Midnight Sun Festival 2009

So today June 21 is the Midnight Sun Festival in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is when the sun does not set at all- ALL sun ALL day & night long!!!! Granted for like the past month you are able to see that the sun barely sets over the mountains-at 3am you can see outside perfectly fine with out any lights on! You can loose tract of time and not realize how late it is until you look at the clock and realize that it is 2am!- we have done that pleantly of weekends... Well we went to the festival early because Roy has work tomorrow, they had lots of things to do and eat.... Caribou Steak Sandwiches, Reindeer Sausage hot dog, Buffalo Bratwurst... and your regular pizza, burgers and funnel cakes! They had a gold panning area where you could pan for your own gold and Roy got some gold from panning two times-eachtime he came away with gold! Go ROY!!
Dagan had fun with all the things going on and Kailey loved seeing all the kids and dogs being walked around the festival! She was ready to head home after about 6 hours of being there so we came home and she fell asleep on the way home. Roy got a caribou sandwich which we all shared and we all liked it was pretty tasty!
